Frequently Asked Questions...
How do I change wick in a vintage continental lighter?
I have a vintage Lucky Stripe Continental lighter that I need to change the wick. To be more clear, there is no wick or cotton in it at all, it was removed before I got it. I've tried the Robinson Wicks at my local Right Aid but no matter what I try, they don't fit.
Do I need a different wick? If so, where (online, preferably) can I get one?
Answer:
Is it too fat or thin?
Did you try feeding the wick in from the top?
My experience with Zippo's had my twisting the heck out of the end of those wicks to get them to fit, sipping the end if it ever got shaggy.
I would go to a smoke shop as they'd have wicks on hand to try different sizes rather than take a guess online.
